Pintada at Display Gallery

So great to talk with Eugenia about her sculptural photography.. our favourite sections and the parts which take a while to notice.  Also had a nice chat with Sue Steward – brilliantly friendly & shared with me her clear excitement for all the artists she had pulled together for the curation of the show – Manuel Ameztoy’s work is stunning, images cut up and stuck back down again repetitively as though they’re exploding (Sue began to tell me about Manuel’s work shortly after I mentioned that I’ve been painting explosions..!)  and she also explained the story behind the salons in the photography of Maria Jose Garcia Piaggio – that they’re small kiosk like venues within the markets of Lima – Peru.
